Daniel Alvear obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Cantabria on 2006. Lecturer at Transport Department of the University of Cantabria. Research and Development Director of the GIDAI Group at the University of Cantabria (Spain). He is an accredited expert in Spain on Fire Safety Engineering in Railway Vehicles, AENOR. Member of the Work Group WG1 that is working on the European Standard prEN 455454, “Fire Safety in Railway Vehicles”. He has participated in several international congresses (43) and courses related to Fire Safety and he is author of several papers in international journals (21). His research interests cover experimental fire tests, design and characterization of fireproofing materials.

Jorge A. Capote obtained his PhD. at University of Cantabria (Spain) on 1993. Professor of Construction Engineering and Fire Safety Engineering at Transport Department of the University of Cantabria. Director of the GIDAI Group, University of Cantabria (Spain). Member of ASCE, SFPE, NFPA – Fire Science and Technology Education Section - and IAFSS. Member of AEN-CEN/25. Prof. Capote has been Principal Researcher of several Studies and Projects about Fire Safety. He has participated in several international congresses (55) and courses related to Fire Safety and he is author of several papers in international journals (29). His research interest cover design of regulation documents for fire safety in buildings and experimental fire test in buildings systems.

Mariano Lázaro obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Cantabria on 2008. Dr. Lázaro is a Researcher of GIDAI Group, Fire Safety - Science and Technology, at the University of Cantabria and is the responsible of the Fire Computer Modeling area in this Group. He has participated in various researches, studies and experimentation projects, funded by Spanish Government and with companies agreements. He has participated in several international congresses (43) and courses related to Fire Safety and he is author of several papers in international journals (18). His research interests cover Mathematical modeling of fire, computational fluid dynamics.

Orlando Abreu obtained his PhD. at University of Minsk (Belarus) on 1983. Dr. Abreu is Research Fellow of Group GIDAI and is the Scientific Advisor of the Evacuation Computer Modeling area in this Group. He has participated in various researches, studies and experimentation projects, funded by Spanish Government and with companies agreements. He has participated in several international congresses (43) and courses related to Fire Safety and he is author of several papers in international journals (16). His research interests cover experimental fire research, physical modeling of complex materials, stochastic mathematical modeling of evacuation processes and Decision Support Systems design.

Arturo Cuesta obtained his Ph.D at the University of Cantabria on 2012. Experience as researcher in public funded R+D projects and consultancy and collaboration in projects concerned with human behavior in fire, Emergency Management (DSS) and evacuation modelling. He has participated in several international congresses (12) related to Fire Safety, Pedestrian Dynamics, Human Behaviour in Fire and Emergency Management.

David Lázaro obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Cantabria on 2017. Dr. Lázaro has participated in various researches, studies and experimentation projects, funded by Spanish Government and with companies agreements. He has participated in several international congresses and courses related to Fire Safety and he is author of several papers in international journals (7). His research interests cover computational fluid dynamic, heat transfer and thermal decomposition process.

Alain Alonso Ipiña is an industrial engineer at University of Basque Country (Spain) since 2011. Master of Science at the University of Basque Country in 2013. His research interests cover computational fluid dynamic and pyrolysis and thermal decomposition process.

Javier González-Villa obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Cantabria on 2018. Dr. González has been part of different researches, studies and projects funded by Spanish Government and private companies funds. He has participated in several international congresses and courses related to applied probability and Monte Carlo techniques and he is author of several papers in international journals. His research interests cover computational simulation of probabilistic methods applying Monte Carlo techniques.

Gemma Ortiz obtained her Bachelor in Economics at the University of Cantabria (Spain) in 2003. PhD Student of the Transport Department of the University of Cantabria, Group GIDAI. Her research interests cover the Research and Development from a financial standpoint and the funding through national and international programs.

Adriana Balboa Marras is a Civil Engineer at University of A Coruña (Spain) since 2015. Her research interests cover data collection of human behaviour in emergencies, evacuation modelling and simulation and emergency management.

Sonia Escalante obtained her title as Technician in Administrative Management at the Secondary School of “El Alisal” (Spain) in 2008. She joined the Group GIDAI to manage and collaborate in the Laboratory for the Characterization of the Combustion of Materials and also she has participated in the organization of several international congresses (3).

Pedro Lázaro Urrutia obtained his title as Superior Technician in Automotive and his title as Superior Technician in Electronic Product Development at the IES Augusto Gonzalez de Linares, on 2002 and on 2004 respectively. In 2008 he joined the Group GIDAI where he is currently working as a technician in the Laboratory for the Characterization of the Combustion of Materials, his work covers medium and large scale fire tests and he had participated in various projects of I+D+I (9) and in the organization of several international congresses(3).
